…The Flood Warning is extended for the following waterways and
locations in Indiana…Illinois…
Wildcat Creek near Lafayette.
Wabash River at Terre Haute, Montezuma, Covington, Hutsonville
Legacy Power Plant Site, and Riverton.
…The Flood Warning continues for the following river ad location
in Indiana…
Wabash River at Lafayette.
.Repeating rounds of showers and thunderstorms over the past 72
hours, ending at 8 AM this morning, has brought copious rainfall to
eastern, northern central, and much of western Indiana. Maximum
radar estimates range from roughly three inches near Terre Haute to
six to seven inches from Vermilion County, Illinois southeast to
northern Vermillion, southern Fountain, and northern Parke counties
in Indiana.
The crest at Lafayette is expected Saturday, Terre Haute Sunday
night, and Mt Mount Carmel early in the week of August 23.
More rain, on and off, is in the forecast through Sunday night.

* WHAT…Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* WHERE…Wabash River at Lafayette.
* WHEN…Until further notice.
* IMPACTS…At 18.0 feet, Extensive flooding covers many acres of
agricultural land. SR 225 closed by high water. Granville Bridge
Public Access Site flooded. Tippecanoe CR 950 W south of CR 75 S
floods in several places from the Wabash Bottoms, Janssen Tract to
Warren CR 350 N in the Black Rock Preserve Area, a distance of
nearly 1.5 miles. High water affects Fort Ouiatenon area. All
parks in the West Lafayette and Lafayette areas are flooded.

– At 5:30 PM EDT Friday the stage was 16.7 feet.
– Recent Activity…The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 5:30 PM EDT Friday was 16.7 feet.
– Forecast…The river will rise to 17.9 feet tomorrow evening.
It will then fall early Sunday afternoon. It will rise to
17.8 feet Monday morning. It will then fall again but remain
above flood stage.
– Flood stage is 11.0 feet.

Instructions
Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.
To escape rising water, take the shortest path to higher ground.
Even 6 inches of fast-moving flood water can knock you off your feet
and a depth of 2 feet will float your car. Never try to walk, swim,
or drive through such swift water. If you come upon flood waters,
stop, turn around and go another way.
