Wabash River at Covington, Montezuma, Terre Haute, Hutsonville
Legacy Power Plant Site, and Riverton.
.Lowland flooding will continue along the Wabash River this week.
The crest should reach the Hutsonville Legacy Power Plant Site this
afternoon, then Riverton Friday morning. Minor flooding should end
Friday at Lafayette, but continue until Monday evening downriver at
Hutsonville and Riverton.
Our next rain chances arrive Friday, but amounts should be under
three tenths of an inch. Dry weather follows that for the weekend,
then better rain chances return starting Sunday night. Rainfall
amounts next week could bring additional rises to area rivers.
* WHAT…Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* WHERE…Wabash River at Lafayette.
* WHEN…Until tomorrow evening.
* IMPACTS…At 12.0 feet, Water may approach a couple low county
roads.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 11:30 AM EDT Thursday the stage was 12.2 feet.
– Recent Activity…The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 11:30 AM EDT Thursday was 13.0 feet.
– Forecast…The river is expected to fall below flood stage
tomorrow morning and continue falling and remain below flood
stage.
– Flood stage is 11.0 feet.
